My journey to Quiet Path Counselling

"When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another"

- Carl Rogers, A Way of Being

My quiet path of reflection

My own quiet path of reflection began over ten years ago, leading me to become fascinated by the healing power of human connection. When the time was right, I completed my counselling training, achieving the level 4 diploma in person-centred counselling. I worked for a dementia-focussed and end-of-life specialist nursing home, where I supported families as they managed the transition of their relative moving into the home, and with bereavement. I also worked for a local mental health charity, supporting people living in crisis and with complex trauma. Time with the NHS supporting people with anxiety and depression further broadened my experience. Alongside my counselling qualification, I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate. My personal experience of deeply connected, restorative counselling relationships during this time has profoundly influenced how I work today. I believe the true value of the therapeutic relationship lies in providing a secure, safe space for exploration, healing and growth.

Building a trusting alliance

When working with clients, it is most important to me that we are able to build a strong therapeutic alliance. My aim is that you feel held, safe, and secure within our trusting counselling relationship. This secure foundation allows us to explore what feels most important for you, supporting you along your quiet path of transformation and growth. My hope is that you gain new insight, compassion, understanding, unconditional acceptance, and a profound love for who you are.

Legal Requirements

I am an accredited registered member of the NCPS, one of the governing bodies for counsellors in the UK. This ensures I work to their Code of Ethics, maintaining regular further training and Continuing Professional Development, and undertaking regular supervision. I am registered with the ICO, and my practice is GDPR compliant, meaning the information shared with me is held securely. I also hold professional indemnity insurance, and an enhanced DBS certificate.

Beyond the counselling room

Beyond my work as a counsellor, I find immense joy and nourishment in nature. Spending time amongst blossom trees or by the sea is truly enriching for my mind, body, and soul. I also enjoy yoga, walking, and moments of quiet reflection. These practices help me stay grounded and bring a balanced perspective to my life and work.
